Port of Rostock

Land Transport and Travel To and From Port Rostock
(Rostock, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany)

It is very easy to travel around in Rostock thanks to its motorways and efficient public trains and buses. The network is very well run and extremely efficient.

Travel by Bus and Shuttles

There is a bus service which is provided by Superfast Ferries and departs 90 minutes prior to the departure and half an hour after arrival of Superfast ferries in Rostock.

The transfer takes passengers into the centre of town in 30 minutes.

Car Hire and Road Travel

If you are travelling from Lubeck, Hamburg or Ratzeburg, you need to take the B105 to the junction between Rövershäger Chausse and the A19 motorway slip road. Here, turn left and follow signs for 'Überseehafen' or 'Ostsee Fähren'.

If you are driving from Berlin, simply follow the motorways A24 and A19 until you arrive at the Rostock port.

Trains and Rail Travel

If you want to travel by rail, Deutsche Bahn AG operates train services to Rostock Central Station. You can continue your journey to the port by taking the suburban rail (S-Bahn) from the Rostock Central Station. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the bus or rail terminal to the ferry port.

Car Parking

Free parking is available in the harbour area and provides both long- and short-term facilities. There is dedicated parking for disabled passengers and the availability of assistance to the terminal if it is required.

Travel by Taxis

There are numerous taxis waiting at the terminal building and although a more expensive alternative to public transport, taxis are very convenient and fast.
